Your rights under the UK GDPR and how to exercise them. We respond within one month and charge no fee in ordinary cases.

Your rights at a glance

The UK GDPR gives you rights over your personal data. This page explains each right and how to use it with us.

Be informed: to know what we hold and why.
Access: to get a copy of your personal data.
Rectification: to correct data that is wrong or incomplete.
Erasure: to have your data deleted.
Restriction: to limit how we use your data while a question is settled.
Portability: to receive certain data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable form.
Objection: to object to processing based on our legitimate interests.
Automated decisions: not to be subject to a solely automated decision with legal or similarly significant effect. We do not make such decisions.

Plain words are enough. You do not need to quote the law.

How we check it is you

We must confirm your identity before we act. This protects your data from someone pretending to be you.

If you hold an account, we will normally confirm you through its registered email address.

If we are unsure, we may ask for a little more information. We only ask for what we need.

How long it takes, and what it costs

We respond within one month of receiving your request.

If your request is complex, we can take up to two further months. We will tell you within the first month if that applies, and why.

There is no fee in ordinary cases. If a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive, we can charge a reasonable fee or refuse it. If we refuse, we will explain why, and remind you that you can complain.

Erasing a published practitioner profile

A practitioner profile is published at the practitioner's own request. You can ask us to take it down or erase it at any time.

When you ask for erasure, we first confirm your identity. We then remove your profile from the bench, so it is no longer listed or matched, and we delete your account and profile data.

A few records survive erasure where the law requires it. The DSAR log entry about your request is kept for 6 years, so we can evidence what was asked and what we did.

If we have already introduced you to a hirer, that hirer holds their own copy of what they received. You will need to ask them directly if you want it deleted.

Objecting and restricting

We answer contact enquiries and run security logging under legitimate interests. You can object to that processing at any time.

We will stop unless we have compelling grounds to continue. Some security processing must continue, because it keeps every user's data safe.

You can also ask us to restrict processing while a question about your data is resolved.

Portability

Portability covers the data you provided to us under contract: your account details, profile and vetting evidence, or the roles you posted.

We provide it in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format. Where feasible, we can send it to another controller at your request.

Fit scores and automated decisions

The platform computes a fit score between a role and a practitioner. Every score shows the named signals behind it and a confidence level.

Scores decide nothing on their own. An admin reviews practitioners, and the hirer decides whether to ask for an introduction.

No decision with legal or similarly significant effect is made solely by automated means on this platform.

A note on consent

Nothing on the platform is processed on the basis of consent, so there is no consent to withdraw. If that ever changes, we will ask first and update this page.

Complaining to the regulator

The UK supervisory authority is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

You can complain to the ICO at any time through ico.org.uk. You do not have to contact us first, although we would welcome the chance to put things right.
